Introducing Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet -and Sprigatito the the Weed Cat
The Pokémon Company has announced two new Pokemon games coming out later this year: Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet for the Nintendo Switch. Developed by Game Freak, these games take you into an open world without borders between town and wilderness. Of the many new pokémon, only three have been revealed so far. They are (from the left) Sprigatito the grass cat, Fuecoco the fire croc, and Quaxly the water duckling. Are there other kinds of ducklings? The forthcoming games were introduced in this overly dramatic trailer.
A Timeline that Sorts Out the Pokémon Games
Whether you're just now getting into Pokémon, or you've indulged in the games and shows and toys for quite some time, you may still find your understanding a bit vague on the universe they are portraying. Sure, you know the Pokémon themselves, and what you are expected to do with them, but why are the games so different from each other, and how do they fit together? Believe it or not, there was a time in the Pokémon world in which people didn't try to "catch 'em all." Poke Balls were hand-carved out of fruit. If you encountered this early game unexpectedly, we can't blame you for being confused. But if you knew how they unfolded over time, you can arrange your games in chronological order -not necessarily from when they were released, but by when they take in the Pokémon universe. The games were developed over time since 1996, so they are going to be different. Den of Geek has constructed a timeline of the main Pokémon games, with explanations for each, designed to help you make sense of the Pokémon video game universe in which we can see different time periods. #pokemon
LAPD Cops Fired for Ignoring Robbery to Play Pokemon Go
Well, they were slacking during their shifts. Two former police officers, Louis Lozano and Eric Mitchell were fired in 2017 for playing Pokemon Go during a robbery. While this issue was a few years ago, an appeal was filed by the ex-officers that challenged their termination. According to the two, the city broke the law when it used in-car video footage as evidence. In addition, they claimed that they were denied protection under the Public Safety Officers Procedural Bill of Rights Act. A California appeals court, after processing the appeal, upheld the termination. "A board of rights found petitioners guilty on multiple counts of misconduct, based in part on a digital in-car video system (DICVS) recording that captured petitioners willfully abdicating their duty to assist a commanding officer's response to a robbery in progress and playing a Pokémon mobile phone game while on duty," a passage from the decision read.Image credit: Mika Baumeister#work #appeals #Pokemon #PokemonGo #misconduct
Bidoof's Big Stand: an Original Pokémon Adventure
Attention Pokémon enthusiasts! You know Bidoof, he's a pokémon that's obviously a beaver, even though his official description keeps up the fantasy that every pokémon is an original animal. Now Bidoof has his own cartoon from the Official Pokémon YouTube channel. It's as adorable as you would hope, and you can see it only at YouTube.Bidoof is a fan favorite. Some will tell you that's because he can do a lot of things, even though he doesn't do them well. We can all relate to that. Others will tell you it's just because he's so cute. If that's your reasoning, then here's a bonus just for you that you'll recall from Bidoof Day last summer.
