The Horde of Skeletons in Video Games, Gathered in One Place

How many video games feature skeletons? Maybe all of them! After all, a skeleton is a familiar icon to represent death, therefore the underworld, and therefore all things evil. Or at least all things scary. And in video games, they just plain look cool. The Twitter account Skeletons in Video Games aims to feature them all eventually.

The Twitter account has already posted more than 2000 screenshots from video games featuring skeletons and skulls of all kinds. Of course, you would expect a skeleton to show up in a game like Project Zomboid.

But maybe you wouldn't expect it so much in The Magic School Bus. But this is the associated game, The Magic School Bus Explores the Human Body, which is an anatomy lesson after all, so it shouldn't be too terrifying.

LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy? I don't recall any walking skeletons from the original trilogy movies. This game must be off the rails.

Some of the skeletons are customized characters, some may be from game mods, and some are rarely-seen bonus characters, such as the one in Skate 3.

Check out the items in the boneyard at Skeletons in Video Games. I'm sure your favorite game is there. If not, you can leave a comment to suggest it for the next entry. -via Boing Boing
