With the year coming to a close, a lot of websites and platforms have released the recaps of the media that their subscribers have been tuning in quite a lot. From Spotify, Apple, and other music streaming platform services showing the most listened to songs and albums of their listeners to Steam releasing the stats for the most played games of their players– it’s certainly the time for reminiscing and thinking about the things that made our year.
The year 2022 has provided the gaming industry and its players with a wide variety of titles throughout the months. From the Pokemon Company’s new and fresh take on the series with Pokemon Legends Arceus to FromSoftware’s Elden Ring to indie games such as Cult of the Lamb, there were a lot of different games that allowed players to play various mechanics and stories.
NPR has released its list of the best games of the year from the opinions of its staff and contributors. Story-driven, single-player, multi-player, and games great for casual players all made it into the list. Check their full list here!
What’s your top game of the year? Our top video game isn’t exactly a 2022 release. If you’re familiar with the narrative, point-and-click detective game Disco Elysium, then you’ll know what we mean when we say that it is one of the few games that make replaying so worthwhile.
