Wizards of the Coast has created a new update to their 1983 Basic Set, where players had access to a solo choose-your-own-adventure to introduce the basics of the rules. The campaign had pre-made characters that players can choose from, such as Aleena the cleric, and Bargle the Infamous.
The company has now created an update of sorts to that solo adventure, and you can play it for free. Called Before the Storm, players can now choose from five characters, a human paladin, a hill dwarf cleric, a lightfoot halfling rogue, a high elf wizard, or a wood elf fighter. Upon choosing, players can then embark on a short adventure where the rules of the game get introduced as they travel the city of Neverwinter.
Before the Storm was launched to make getting into D&D less intimidating. Check out the game here!
