With the recent release of Diablo 4, the rare collectibles and items in the game have now been confirmed. While this news should drive fans to play the game more to obtain them, it has instead sparked a debate within the community about whether it’s actually worth the effort.
The reason is that these items are difficult to obtain. Lead class designer Adam Jackson confirmed that six top-tier items could be found in Diablo 4. However, they can only be available after players progress beyond level 85. The difficulty doesn’t stop after hours of grinding up to that level, though. It’s actually still rare to get those items after passing the level threshold. "People who are talking about target farming these super rare uniques are just [...] 'ignorant' of just how abstract the mathematics is on getting these items," one player writes online. The odds, according to this player are so close to zero. “It's just not going to drop for you."
Popular streamers such as Maximum also agree with this sentiment, to the point that he suggested that these rare collectibles basically don’t exist. While others are a bit intimidated, some are pointing out that these rare items are called “chase items” for a reason.
